Larger scale planning and urban design efforts often involve multiple stakeholders including community groups, redevelopment agencies, and developers. These plans for new transit oriented neighborhoods in San Jose were developed collaboratively with the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, parks, developers, and community groups to meet a variety of goals by the city. The plans facilitate neighborhood access directly to transit by establishing broad public pedestrian promenades. Neighborhood retail is included in the plans to establish convenient and walkable neighborhoods that will reduce residents' reliance on cars.
