One East Julian is located on San Jose’s First Street light rail corridor. The City is promoting intensified development along the transit corridor to promote transit usage. The half acre site, formerly a parking lot, now accommodates 48 residences. Each unit has its own exterior entry either from stoops lining First Street, or from a central courtyard at the podium level. The three upper floors are comprised of flats and townhouses. The individual units are clearly expressed in the massing and elevations giving the project a scale that is compatible with the adjacent single family neighborhood as well as the historical character along First Street.
